Who out there has heard of potato candy? It’s a depression era candy that people still make today using potato and confectioners sugar! There is a CRAZY chemical reaction that happens between the starch in the potato and the powdered sugar that turns these two ingredients into a beautiful white dough….here is my review for you! Eggnog French Toast with Cran-Raspberry Syrup!! IT’S SO GOOD!!!

Did you forget to make your egg bake yesterday! Don’t sweat it…make this instead!

Recipe below! Also on my website Sharonmyideas.com (link in my bio)

One loaf of Challah bread
1 cup eggnog
2 eggs
2 tsp rum
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup raspberry jam
1/4 cup cranberry juice
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp powdered sugar

Slice challah into 1” slices
Combine eggnog, eggs, rum and nutmeg
Dip slices of bread in custard both sides
Place on a cookie sheet, cover with foil, pop in the fridge for up to one hour
Combine jam, juice and cornstarch in a pot over med heat until smooth and slightly thickened
Preheat over to 425°
Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, bake slices of French toast for 14-15 min turning once halfway thru
Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with syrup! Enjoy!!
